Help PSAC document the impact of the Canada Life transition.
As part of PSAC's policy grievance against Treasury Board for the poor management of the transfer of the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) to Canada Life, we are gathering evidence from members who experienced harm as a result of the transition.
On July 1, 2023, two separate changes took place. Improvements to the PSHCP negotiated by PSAC and other unions came into effect, and, on the same day, the federal government transferred administration of the PSHCP from Sun Life to Canada Life and MSH International.
PSAC's grievance is about the issues with the administration of the PSHCP following the transition. Members reported long delays, difficulties contacting Canada Life, unpaid claims and other issues that caused financial losses, delayed treatments or other impacts. PSAC is seeking remedies for these administrative failures.
This survey is intended to help us document those impacts. We are particularly interested in what happened to you, what consequences you experienced and, where possible, the financial or other harm caused.
Please note that this is about the Public Service Health Care Plan only, not the dental plan or disability insurance plan. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Your progress will be saved if you leave the survey and return to complete it. Gathering relevant documents prior to completing the survey may help you respond more accurately. Helpful documents may include claim records, medical receipts, bank statements, call logs, and/or email correspondence from the period following transition to Canada Life. However, you will not need to submit any such documentation at this time.
The information gathered in this survey will be disclosed to the employer as a part of our required disclosure for our policy grievance. If you do not wish for this information to be disclosed in this hearing, you should not fill out the survey.
Thank you.
